<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Made the way toward Copper Mountain on Saturday, July 23. At Copper Mountain we headed south on Hwy 91 for six miles. There&#8217;s no sign for Mayflower Gulch, but it is right at 6 miles south of Interstate 70 on Hwy 91. Can&#8217;t miss the huge parking lot on the left.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>So nice to start a trail and immediately see the view that lies ahead&#8230;</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://stampphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/01small.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-147" title="01small" src="http://stampphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/01small.jpg" alt="" width="375" height="500" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>The walk was a bit underwhelming from a wildflower perspective. Some flowers here and there, but nothing spectacular. Not like the fields of flowers that lay for us further up the trail.</strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><a href="http://stampphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/02small1.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-152" title="02small" src="http://stampphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/02small1.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="332" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>There are a few old abandoned mine buildings near where the mountains rise up to the sky.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>We spent a little time there making photos and eating lunch.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">&nbsp;</p>
<p><a href="http://stampphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/03small.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-153" title="03small" src="http://stampphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/03small.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="371" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://stampphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/05small.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-154" title="05small" src="http://stampphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/05small.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="331" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://stampphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/06small.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-155" title="06small" src="http://stampphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/06small.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="323" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Inside one of the cabins made for some great light as the light filtered through the cracks in the walls&#8230;</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">&nbsp;</p>
<p><a href="http://stampphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/07small.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-156" title="07small" src="http://stampphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/07small.jpg" alt="" width="456" height="500" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>We left the valley floor and began to head up the trail to the ridgeline above this valley. On the way up we spotted some Columbines and had to stop to make a few photos&#8230;</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">&nbsp;</p>
<p><a href="http://stampphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/08small.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-157" title="08small" src="http://stampphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/08small.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="332" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>As we made our way to the top of the ridge line, there was some snow that needed to be crossed in order to reach the top of the saddle&#8230;</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">&nbsp;</p>
<p><a href="http://stampphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/09small.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-158" title="09small" src="http://stampphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/09small.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="342" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>After crossing the snow and making my way to the top, this was the view that awaited&#8230;</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">&nbsp;</p>
<p><a href="http://stampphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/west-mayflowersmall.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-159" title="west-mayflowersmall" src="http://stampphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/west-mayflowersmall.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="318" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Highly recommend the trail to Mayflower Gulch. Approx. 5 miles out and back. Mostly a 4 wheel drive road, so relatively easy to walk, great scenery and a great way to beat the heat of the summer. Although, I am anxious to return in the winter via snowshoes!</strong></p>
